ISO GPS: consulting, workshops and drawing review

Clear specifications. Defensible decisions.

Suppliers read the same drawing differently. CSL clarifies specifications to ISO GPS: in your project, in a workshop on your drawings, or as a drawing review with concrete correction proposals.

Typical situations

Common starting points

The specification is unclear
Function, production and inspection do not fit together. CSL aligns specification and measurement strategy.
Suppliers interpret differently
The same drawing is read in different ways. The smaller the room for interpretation, the fewer alignment loops and sampling rounds.
Time pressure before the drawing freeze
Early, defensible decisions instead of late drawing changes.
The theory course did not answer the practical questions
CSL works directly on your drawings. The rules are applied to your own parts, not to textbook examples.

ISO GPS workshops at your site

To the workshop page

A hands-on workshop for confident application, built on your real drawings. Small groups of up to four participants, booked by the day.

The goal: resolve open questions and bring the team to a common level of understanding — shared across design, development, quality, metrology and production.

Discussing challenges and candidate drawings
3
Defining scope, number of days and participants
4
Delivery at your site, with your drawings and parts

Drawing review and drawing correction

To the drawing review page

You send the drawing as PDF and choose the level to match your risk profile, per drawing. Correction proposals are entered directly at the characteristic; your design engineer decides what to adopt.

Basic — specification review
Clarity and completeness within the agreed scope, with correction proposals. Assembly and installed condition are excluded; function is considered only to a limited extent.
Advanced — with assembly situation
In-depth review of unambiguity and completeness. Assembly and installed condition are considered, and function in the context of assembly.
Expert — in-depth full review
Function, assembly, surfaces and edges in detail. Tolerances that are too tight or too generous are challenged. For expensive, complex or high-risk parts.
The cost of an early drawing review is visible and plannable. The cost of an unclear specification arises later — spread across development, suppliers, production, metrology and quality assurance.

Outcome

What you get out of it

Drawings everyone reads the same way
Design, production and supplier arrive at the same result.
Fewer queries
Nobody has to renegotiate an unambiguous specification.
Avoiding disputes
Ambiguity is resolved in the review, not at incoming inspection.

Frequently asked

What customers want to know before the project

Is your interpretation of the standards legally binding?
No. We deliver a technically substantiated interpretation in line with the standards, as a basis for your decision and for alignment with customers and suppliers. It is not legal advice — and the body of standards itself knows no single binding interpretation.
Do you automatically review the entire drawing?
No, you define the scope of the review. For a systematic review of the whole document there is the drawing review in three levels.
Is there a certificate for the workshop?
No, there is no certificate. On request we issue a confirmation of participation. The goal is confident everyday application: that your people can read a drawing correctly and specify themselves after the workshop.
Who decides on the drawing and its release?
You do. Responsibility for the drawing, the product and the release stays with you. We deliver the metrological and normative basis for it.
